3rd day is from Pompolona Lodge to Quintin Lodge.
夜中に嵐のような強風がゴウゴウいって目が覚めたので、明日はどうなるのやらと不安だったのですが、朝になると雨風は穏やかになっていてほっと一安心。
I woke up with a roaring sound like a storm in the middle of the night.
I felt very anxious of today's trekking, but rain and window eased off in the morning.
ポンポローナ川 です。

あいにくのお天気ですので、山々は雲に包まれています。
Mountains are clouded.
けれど、森の色が違う。
However,

NZの花はほとんど白と黄色なのだそう。
White and Yellow colors are major of flowers in NZ.
So purple, other colors are rare.
なぜ白と黄色が多いのかは諸説あるようですが、NZは蝶々の種類が非常に少なく（24種類だけ）、蜂もいないんだそう。
There are lot of theories.
One of them, the number of species of butterfly are only 24 in NZ.
On the other hand, 1700 species of moth are living in NZ.

As Moth called night fly, they are active in the night, so flowers becamewhite and yellow to appeal them.
モスはモスでも、苔は好きですが、蛾はちょっと・・・
I love moss, but not so good at moth...
昨晩からの雨のお陰で、この日はあいにくの天気ではありましたが、うつくしい滝を見ることができました。
Today we could see lot of beautiful falls thanks to the rainfall last night ( and also now...)
Lake Mintaro (ミンタロ湖）
本日の中継点のミンタロハットの奥にはヘリポートが
ありました。
There was the helipad in the back of Mintaro Hut where we had short break.
ミンタロハットを出た後、この日の前半で一番お気に入りの場所を見つけました。
After the departure from Mintaro Hut, I found most favorite place early in today's trek.
